The municipality of Coulounieix-Chamiers, located on the outskirts of P\u00e9rigueux (Dordogne’s Prefecture in France), is intimately linked to the world of railways .<\/p>\n

Club members<\/p><\/div>\n

Fifty members participate in various activities of M\u00e9riller-Vapeur 24 Club, whose premises are located in the old municipal workshops, rue du Colonel Rossel.<\/p>\n

This club includes several activities:
\n– Maintenance and beautification<\/strong> of the M\u00e9riller roundabout, on the road to Bordeaux, where is exposed a steam locomotive type 150 A 65 \u00ab\u00a0the Decapoda\u00a0\u00bb.
\n– Recovery and classification<\/strong> of archival materials in order to keep remnants of the railway endeavor in the region.
\n– Model making section<\/strong> that deals with the construction of a fixed railway network in the club house, and a removable network and some dioramas presented in club exhibitions.<\/p>\n

Chaired by Roger MAROUBY, the club offers various activities on Wednesday afternoons and Saturday mornings.
